App of the week - Biteable

My teaching app this week has been biteable.  Explainer vids are short content heavy links that could be used in the classroom to;

  • Set the scene for learning to come
  • Provide a quick summary of learning that has occurred recently.
  • Provide revision notes for topic that have been covered in the term
This comes in two cost versions - all video features are available in the free version, although videos come with a biteable watermark.  The watermark can be removed, although for use in the classroom this is probably not cost effective, and the watermark provides students with a clue of an ICT resource that they can access for their own explainers.

In terms of links and usability the videos created can be uploaded and shared through a youtube account - which enables use in most classroom.  Alternatively they can be played through a flash player, or embedded in a blog for use in the classroom.  Below is an example of an explainer video created in biteable advertising my CV.
